Dear Friends and Families
The teachers have been extremely busy recently writing Semester One Student Reports and I have had the great pleasure to read each one of them. It is clear that the teachers know their learners well and can accurately report on the learning. The reports will be emailed home on the last day of term, Friday 7th July. Please ensure we have your most current email address, so no one inadvertently misses their child’s report. Please note that school will conclude at the usual time of 3 pm the last day, Friday 7th July. You are very welcome to join us in Community Prayer, lead by 5/6KH at 8:55 am on the last day of term 2.
Please remember that next term we will have staff on after school duty until 3:20 pm so if you are usually later than that time to collect your child, please register them with OSHC. Information is available on the YMCA website or in the front office. This will ensure that all students are always safely supervised.
We are fortunate to currently have some work experience students from Rostrevor and St Ignatius Colleges who are past scholars. Those staff who have been here for some time are delighted to see the fine young people these students have grown to be. It is comforting to know that they feel happy to return and contribute to the community.
Tomorrow is the final day of Semester One Ready to Learn Transition Program and I am delighted to report that is has been successful in allowing time for the new Receptions of Term Three to get used to the space, the teachers, and their fellow peers. We look forward to welcoming the seventeen new students to Mrs Papa’s and Miss Brine’s classes.
Thank you to the Mini Vinnies student leaders who have been integral in organising the St Vincent de Paul blue collection bins for donations of clothing, bedding and toys for the winter appeal. Amanda has written about the winter woolly day on Friday further in the newsletter. Thank you on behalf of those who this supports. Your kindness and generosity is so very much appreciated.
Please join us for Family Mass this Sunday at 5pm. It would be fabulous to see as many families as can make it, share in the mass. It is such a beautiful way to come together as community.
Term 3 recommences on Monday 24th July so I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, safe, holiday break and if you have the chance to take some time to be with your child/ren, I trust it will be enjoyable for you all.
Kindest regards
Angela Morrison
